ACC District Police Department
The Austin Community College (ACC) District Police Department is a diverse team of commissioned police officers and support staff who serve and protect the college community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The College’s Police Department has primary responsibility for crime prevention, crime prevention training, law enforcement, parking and traffic control, and emergency response. Commissioned officers have the same authority as municipal police officers and county sheriffs. ACC police officers are authorized to carry firearms, and empowered to make arrests. Officers are trained in CPR, the use of defibrillators, and first aid. Likewise, all primary patrol vehicles are equipped with first aid equipment and a defibrillator.
