Editing PowerPoint Presentations with PowerPoint app on iPad

Before following this tutorial:

  • Make sure you have access to your ACC email and that you’ve installed the Microsoft PowerPoint app.
  • Make sure you’ve sent your PowerPoint to your ACC email address.

  1. Open the email with the PowerPoint and tap on the attachment
  2. When the PowerPoint opens, tap the icon on the top right corner
  3. Tap “More”
  4. Tap “Copy to PowerPoint”
  5. You will need to save a copy of your PowerPoint presentation in order to be able to edit it
  6. Tap “OneDrive – austincc.edu” and create and name the folder you would like to save it in
  7. You can now edit your PowerPoint (it will save your changes as you edit). To get back to the main PowerPoint screen, tap the back arrow on the top left of the screen.
  8. To access the PowerPoint again, you’ll want to re-open the app and tap on the “Open” folder on the left-side panel.

Editing PowerPoint Presentations in Google Slides on iPad

Before following this tutorial:

  • Make sure you have access to your ACC email and that you’ve installed the Google Drive and Google Slides apps.
  • Make sure you’ve saved your PowerPoint in Google Drive or sent it to your ACC email address.

  1. Open the email with the PowerPoint and tap on the attachment
  2. When the PowerPoint opens, tap the icon on the top right corner (you can also tap the Google Drive icon to the left if you just want the file to go straight to your Drive instead of a specific folder – if you do this, skip to step #8)saving file to drive
  3. When the drop-down opens, tap Drive (tip: you may have to slide left, through the icons until you see it).selecting the drive icon
  4. When the new window opens, tap Select Folder and for destination, tap My Drive. Once you’re happy with where it will save, tap Save heresave here to my drive
  5. You will be brought back to the original window, tap UPLOAD (when it’s complete, the window will disappear)choose to upload the file
  6. Go back to your Home Screen and open up Google Drive > Locate the PowerPoint presentation (this will depend on where you saved it within your Drive) and tap on it to open. The presentation will automatically open up in Google Slides.drive icon
  7. Once it’s open you will be able to edit the document (tip: double-tap in the slide to open up the on-screen keyboard)
  8. Google Slides automatically saves your edits so when you’ve finished just tap on the check-box in the top left of the screen (tip: you’ll need to tap three times to go back to your Google Slides home page).editing .ppt in google slides

Blackboard Instructor Mobile App Overview

Blackboard Instructor is a mobile app that enables you to view course content, modify settings, grade assignments, connect with students in discussions, and launch Blackboard Collaborate sessions. The app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices.

Create a New Apple ID

While many apps are made available through the Self Service app on your ACC iPad, you may wish to install additional apps on the device. In order to do this, you must be logged into the iPad using your Apple ID. If you do not have an Apple ID, you can follow the instructions below to create a free one.

Step 1: Tap the App Store icon to open it.

Step 2: Type in “iTunes Store” its window pops up. On some iPads you must click bottom menu right side “Purchases” for the Create new Apple ID window to pop up. On others you must click on the profile icon upper right for new Apple ID window to pop up.

Step 3: Tap “Create new Apple ID”.

Step 4: Enter in your ACC email.

Step 5: Create a new Password with letters, numbers, and one capital letter.

Step 6: Agree to conditions, choose “next” upper right corner.

Step 7: Fill out contact info with your work address.

Step 8: Fill out Security questions.

Step 9: Select “None” for credit card.

Step 10: Billing address > work address.

Step 11: Verify ID with your ACC email > Follow the link from your ACC email to verify the account and enter the verification code they sent you in your email.
Verify with your cell phone if prompted.
