Panopto Viewing Permission Levels

Panopto includes multiple permission levels to ensure that only the correct audience can view a video you have created.

To access the permission levels settings, click the “Share” button on any video in your Panopto library.

From there, you should see the “Who can access this video” subheader. Click the “Change” button in blue to change the permissions for this video.

You will now be able to choose from five different options of permission levels.

  • Restricted videos are accessible solely by users you have manually granted access within Panopto. You can grant access by adding users as a “Viewer” or “Creator” in the “People and Groups” subheader of the Share Settings screen.
  • Your Organization (unlisted) videos will be able to be viewed only by Panopto users signed in with their ACC eID and given the link directly.
  • Your Organization videos will be publicly findable and viewable by anyone logged in to ACC’s Panopto service with their ACC eID.
  • Public (unlisted) videos are viewable by anyone who has the link, regardless of sign-in status.
  • Public videos are viewable by anyone, anywhere.
