The English Language and Literature Field of Study Curriculum is designed to apply towards bachelor programs in English Languages and Literature and related majors including:

    • Creative Writing
    • Technical Writing
    • Rhetoric

The Field of Study Curriculum for English Language and Literature consists of 12 lower-division semester credit hours of fully transferable and applicable lower-division academic courses.

Note: One semester survey courses that cover these areas of literature may not be used in conjunction with any course listed above covering the same area. Austin Community College (ACC) does not offer any such survey courses, so this situation would only potentially apply to students transferring to ACC who are pursuing this field of study.

Students should always consult with an academic or English faculty advisor regarding transfer to a specific college or university. In addition, students should consult with an advisor at the Texas college or university to which they are transferring for additional information.
