The Student Graffiti Project: Elevating the Student Voice
June 5, 2026

At Austin Community College (ACC), student feedback helps shape meaningful learning experiences. The Student Graffiti Project was created to make student voices more visible and accessible, offering faculty an opportunity to hear directly from students about their experiences in the classroom.
The project began as a grassroots initiative inspired by Dr. Missi Patterson’s vision to elevate student perspectives across the College. Originally, three posters were displayed on each campus, inviting students to respond to three simple but powerful prompts:
- 💡 My best professor has helped me by…
- 🌟 My definition of an excellent professor is…
- 🗣️ Something I would like my professor to know about me is…
What started as a campuswide poster campaign has since evolved into a dynamic digital and in-person engagement project. Through a dedicated Padlet, the Office of Faculty Evaluation tabling events, and ongoing support from Student Life, hundreds of students have contributed their thoughts, experiences, and insights. Student Life helps display the posters in student spaces across ACC and encourages students to share their feedback, ensuring student voices continue to be represented and heard.
The responses provide a unique window into the student experience. They reveal the qualities students value most in their professors, the challenges they navigate both inside and outside the classroom, and the teaching practices that have made a lasting impact on their success.
