May 2026 – Transfer-Bound Students

May marks a time of transition and aspiration. As students prepare to transfer to four-year institutions, they take the next step in their academic journey with purpose and confidence. We celebrate their hard work and recognize the faculty and staff who have guided them along the way.

Transfer-bound students thrive when they receive clear and early academic advising, benefit from strong articulation agreements, feel a sense of belonging and support at both institutions, and are empowered with the resources, guidance, and confidence needed to navigate the transition successfully.

Through transfer partnerships, academic advising, and student support services, ACC helps students build momentum toward their educational and career goals while preparing them for success at four-year institutions and beyond.

Texas State is the most popular transfer destination for Riverbats. 2,820 fall 2020 traditional ACC students later enrolled at Texas State.

Meet ACC student Amber Traylor, a chemistry major and Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship recipient. Amber is transferring to Rutgers University-Camden to continue her studies and pursue a career in medicine. In this video, she shares how the scholarship and mentorship she received at ACC helped her prepare to transfer and graduate debt-free.

Spotlight on Student Resources

Transfer Services: ACC’s Transfer Services helps students move from ACC to four-year colleges and universities with confidence. Through personalized advising, transfer planning guides, workshops, and events, students receive support in selecting transferable courses, researching universities, understanding admissions requirements, and completing applications. Whether students are just beginning to explore their options or preparing to enroll at their next institution, Transfer Services provides the tools, resources, and connections needed to make the transfer process smooth and successful.

Bats to Cats: ACC’s Bats to Cats program provides a seamless and affordable pathway for students planning to transfer to Texas State University. Designed in partnership with Texas State, the program ensures that courses taken at ACC apply directly to participating bachelor’s degree programs, helping students save time and money while avoiding unnecessary coursework. Participants receive coordinated advising from both ACC and Texas State, access to scholarship opportunities, and early connections to the Texas State community.

Celebrating Every Story

Through initiatives like the Faces of Our Mission calendar, we highlight the importance of understanding student experiences—backed by research and data—for everyone who shapes learning at ACC. By celebrating cultural heritage, supporting diverse identities, and sharing practical resources, we create an inclusive educational landscape where every student can achieve their goals.

Supporting all students, all year long.
