Tim Vandermeer

Tim Vandermeer is a Captain with the Austin Fire Department. He attended the ACC Fire Academy when it was located in Taylor, Texas in 2003. He started his first fire service job with Sam Bass Fire Department immediately after the academy. He was hired at the Austin Fire Department in 2007 and has spent the last 15 years in various roles and positions before landing at Station 28 in North Austin on a Special Operation Rescue unit. He is also a member of Texas Task Force 1.

In 2005 he started teaching for the ACC EMT program before moving over to the Fire Academy and the credit side for Hazardous Materials. Tim has an associates degree in Fire Science from ACC and an Education bachelors degree from Texas A&M University.
