Academy Structure

Listen to the audio file of the page.
The Fire Protection career field has a distinct rank/order structure and the goal of the ACCFTA is to ensure students learn the history and traditions of the fire service to prepare them for employment in the fire service, therefore, each class will be divided into shifts. All Cadets will serve as a Cadet Officer. One student will be assigned as Cadet Commander and each shift will be assigned a Cadet Lieutenant.

This structure will facilitate training evolution rotations, work assignments, and will provide each Cadet with experience in supervision, management, leadership, and chain of command, all critical functions in the fire service. These assignments are part of the training in the ACCFTA.
