Meet Kira Ajas, TLED’s New Graphic Design Intern!

Share three words that best describe you.

Passionate, Introvert, Creative.

How do you support faculty at ACC?

I create graphics to support TLED!

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? Did you achieve your goal? Explain.

When I was a little kid, I always imagined having a music-related job. I enjoyed singing, dancing, and listening to as much music as possible at a young age. As I grew older and hit middle school age, I knew I wanted a creative job, but I wasn’t sure what that meant for me. Once I got into college, I tried graphic design as my major and fell in love with it! With my graphic design skills, I made album covers for my dad, who produces music, so in a way, I was able to achieve my childhood dreams!

What is something non-work-related that you want to learn how to do?

This could apply to my field, but I would love to learn printmaking. I want to become better at making things with my hands, and printmaking looks like such a satisfying thing to do. Whether it be carving into a woodblock or learning how to work a letterpress, I find the process so fascinating, and hopefully, I can learn how to work those machines one day!

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

In a pre-pandemic world, I loved attending concerts. I tried to go to as many as my schedule and wallet could allow. As well as enjoying live music, I also am learning how to shoot film photography. It is such a complex skill to learn, but it is so satisfying when you can get the right shot!
