November 2025 – Military-Affiliated and Veteran Students

For November, we celebrate the dedication, service, and contributions of ACC’s military-affiliated and veteran students, including veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. These students bring leadership, discipline, and global perspectives that enrich our college community. As we observe Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, ACC honors service and elevates the resources that help veterans succeed academically and personally.
Military-affiliated and veteran students thrive when they have access to a strong sense of community, clear pathways for leveraging their military experience and benefits, and resources tailored to their unique needs during the transition to civilian and campus life.
ACC is committed to ensuring these students have the guidance, support, and tools necessary to navigate their educational journey successfully, achieve their goals, and fully participate in college life. Through dedicated programs, advising, and community connections, ACC provides a welcoming and empowering environment where military-affiliated and veteran students can excel.
Spotlight on Student Resources
Veterans Services: Veterans Services provides guidance on enrolling at ACC, submitting transcripts and discharge forms, applying for VA benefits, selecting a degree, and accessing additional aid, scholarships, or disability services. These services help students navigate the transition from military to college life while making the most of available educational benefits.
Veteran’s Resource Center: Located in Building 4000 at Highland Campus (HLC), the Veterans Resource Center offers a one-stop location for military and veteran students to access essential support, including VA certification and benefits advising. The 4,000-square-foot center features a lounge area for peer connection, veteran-specific activities, and the Military Families Center, which supports active-duty spouses and their children.
Celebrating Every Story
Through initiatives like the Faces of Our Mission calendar, TLED highlights the importance of understanding student experiences—backed by research and data—for everyone who shapes learning at ACC. By celebrating cultural heritage, supporting diverse identities, and sharing practical resources, we create an inclusive educational landscape where every student can achieve their goals.
