Digital Skills for Today's Jobs Present: Strategies for the Jobseeking Community

View Flyer

Digital Skills for Today’s Jobs is an intensive job-search training hub that empowers students with employment-readiness tools and assets including: master and targeted resumes, LinkedIn profile building, Indeed training, interview skills and practice, TX Workforce application training, professional networking opportunities through monthly employer panels, salary negotiation skills, personal branding, and one-on-one career navigation and coaching.

Coming in the near future, the program will offer a digital fluency platform with an assessment and industry certification process that will provide students with high demand computer workforce competencies. Trainers are experienced supporting special populations and are highly committed to seeing ACC and the surrounding community succeed in Austin’s competitive job market. Ongoing coaching continues to be available post-graduation/certificate completion.

Numerous higher ed studies confirm that the earlier a student utilizes their campus Career Services, the more successful their academic experience is – in school and beyond. This program is free and comprehensive, taking the burden off faculty to include job search training (resume writing, etc.) in their curriculums.

Four-week classes are offered monthly, with daytime and evening options that alternate between M, W one month and T, Th the following.  Accelerated two-week classes are also offered to accommodate student schedules.

Students register for free through CE and walk-ins are welcome the first week of class. Contact Katie McClendon, Supervisory Trainer, at katie.mcclendon@austincc.edu or A. Pamela Saez, Director, at ann.fant-saez@austincc.edu for more information or visit the Strategies for the Job Seeking Community website.
