Learning and Growing at the Lilly Conference

Attending the Lilly Conference has renewed my LOVE of Teaching and Learning. The workshops, presenters and key note speakers shared awesome ideas for Student and Faculty engagement that I use in my classes now. Specifically, the ‘Instructional Coaching: Improving Student Learning’ workshop focused on the development of an Instructional Coaching program. The presenters described the roles of the Coach through anecdotal records depicting the impression of the Coach and Instructor.
This year, the theme of the Lilly Conference was Evidence-Based Teaching and Learning, so the handouts and resource materials were directly related to sharing teaching strategies that produce measurable results. In fact, the Session ‘Motivating First Time Online Learners’ provided the attendees hands on resources to use during week one of classes.
The Lilly Conference breakout sessions and breaks allowed me an opportunity to meet and interact with my Colleagues. Because we are all busy and working at various campuses, having lunch and learning new teaching methods together is priceless and appreciated.
