After You Schedule a DE Proctored Exam Using Class for Zoom

When you schedule your exam, you will receive an email.  

This initial email provides information on what should be done and checked before the exam. (Example of email)

On the day of your exam, you will receive an email from DE Proctoring ([email protected]) with the actual link to your exam. 

If you did not get the link, please check your spam folder to see if it went there.  If you do not have the email, please email [email protected].  

Please note the following:

  • You will no longer get Google Calendar invites when you schedule your exam. 
  • Students will be UNABLE to schedule an exam if they are trying to schedule less than 48 hours out.
  • If a student shows up for their exam appointment more than 15 minutes late, they will not be allowed into their online proctored exam.

Class for Zoom

Please note that if you are a student using an ACC computer in one of our labs, you do not need to install Class for Zoom.  When you launch Class for Zoom from the link you were provided, you should choose “Launch Class for Web” to launch your Class (as seen in the picture below).

If you are on a personal device, you can choose to install the Class application or use the web version.

Class for Zoom is a virtual classroom that uses Zoom. You will access Class for Zoom directly from Blackboard in your course (this will only be available to students whose instructors have opted to use the Class for Zoom platform). Students will need to download class software if they are using a MAC or PC. Class for Zoom can be downloaded with the following website: https://austincc.class.com/

For Android, iPad, or Chrome you will need to install the app from the respective app store.

iPad Information for Students

Wireless: While many functions of the iPad will work regardless of wireless internet access, many tools, such as Blackboard, require access to the internet. Note that this iPad does not come with a cellular connection.

Connecting the keyboard to your iPad

  1. On your iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on the Bluetooth menu on the left side of the screen.
  3. Turn on the keyboard and hold down the Connect button.
  4. On the iPad, you will see a new keyboard appear on the right side of the screen. Tap on the new keyboard.
  5. When the keyboard is connected, it may ask you to enter a 4 digit code on the keyboard. If prompted, enter the 4 digit code shown and press Enter on the keyboard.
  6. Press the Home button on the bottom of your iPad to return to the home screen.

What is Adobe Premiere Rush?

Student Technology Services does not provide direct, student-facing training on the use of Adobe. In lieu of providing these services in-house, we curate 3rd party resources that can help support students.

Rush is a video editing software available for desktop, iPhone, iPad,  and Android.  Rush is not as powerful and Adobe Premiere.  Files are saved to the cloud and can be accessed by any of the devices.

Graphics, videos and a title can be added to the video to the timeline.  Narration may be added as well as background music.  Video can be captured with the apps.  Captioning is not available.   Titles may be used to simulate captioning.
