Introduction to LockDown Browser for Blackboard Learn

Respondus LockDown Browser is a special browser designed to lock down the testing environment while an assessment is in progress. As an instructor, you may require students to use Respondus LockDown Browser to take your assessments (e.g., tests, exams, quizzes) on or off-campus.

Creating and Formatting Questions in Respondus 4.0

Respondus 4.0® is a software tool to develop and manage Blackboard exams and is available free to ACC faculty for both their office and home computers. Respondus also enables instructors to upload exams into Blackboard without having to retype those questions in Blackboard.

NOTE: The authoring tool is currently available to PC users only.  For Mac users, Respondus is accessible to faculty on the Virtual Desktop.

Copy and Move Content in Blackboard

You can copy and move content to organize and rearrange your course materials. If you create folders after you create content items, you can move items to the new folders.

Adding a Hyperlink to a VoiceThread

  1. Go to the Edit page.
  2. Click on the slide to which you want to add a link.
  3. Click on the pencil icon in the bottom-left corner of the slide thumbnail.
  4. Enter the URL into the Links to field. Note: You need to also add a title to the slide.
  5. Click Save.

From an open VoiceThread

  1. Click on the postcard icon at the bottom of the VoiceThread.
  2. Drag a slide to the Edit button on the left side of the page and drop it.
  3. Enter a URL in the Link to field.
  4. Click Save.

When people view your VoiceThread, the title will appear at the top of the slide. If people want to access the link you have entered, they will need to click on the link button on the right-hand side of the slide

Adding Microsoft Word Headings
