By default, Poll Everywhere requires participants to register before joining a poll. However, you can easily disable this requirement to allow for quicker and more anonymous participation.

Default Setting: Registration Required

When you create a new poll, participant registration is automatically enabled. This means that participants will need to provide some identifying information (such as a name or email address) before they can submit responses to your poll.

Benefits of registration:

  • Allows you to track individual responses
  • Prevents duplicate submissions
  • Enables follow-up communication with participants

Disabling Participant Registration

If you prefer to allow anonymous participation or want to streamline the polling process, you can disable the registration requirement:

  1. Login to polleverywhere.com
  2. Select the profile icon on the bottom left corner
  3. Select “Activity settings” on the top right
  4. Select “Off” under “Remind participants to register for all graded activities?”
  5. Scroll down and click “Save”
