A smart view is a focused look at the Grade Center that shows only the columns that match a set of criteria.  With smart views, you can view the progress of an existing group, student performance for a particular item, Individual students, category and status of items, or a custom combination of attributes.  Smart views also allow you to track students with low progress as well as do a grade column assessment comparison between a calculated test column and calculated assignment column. You can compare the two columns to see how well students are performing.
