Why am I receiving this error: 400 ‘Enabled Cookies”?

The 400 error in the LMS is a common issue. It is often related to the browser not accepting cookies, but it could also be related to something else.

Download and Install Lockdown Browser (Regular version and ALEKS) on PC, Mac, Chromebook and iPad

To install Respondus Lockdown Browser on a PC or a Mac, please visit the following link and follow the instructions on that page to install the program – https://download.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?id=999134577

To install Respondus Lockdown Browser on an iPad you may click the following link (while on the iPad) – https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lockdown-browser/id659101775 or you may search the Apple App Store for Lockdown Browser from Respondus Inc.  PLEASE NOTE: We have been made aware that Respondus Lockdown Browser (LDB) is currently incompatible with iPadOS 18. This is a known issue with the vendor and they are currently working on a resolution. In the meantime, students will be unable complete exams in Lockdown Browser if their iPad is running iPadOS 18. Students can still take advantage of the 8 Computer Centers or 4 ACCelerators around the ACC District.

To install Respondus Lockdown Browser on a Chromebook please follow the steps below.

  1. Sign into Blackboard 
  2. Go to the link for the exam
  3. The Chromebook should launch a webpage for you to install the Lockdown Browser from the Chrome store. 

*Please keep in mind, that if a school district owns your Chromebook you will not be able to install Lockdown Browser (or anything else) through our link. You will need to contact the IT department of the school district for assistance.

Class for Zoom: Mac Unable to Share Screen

If you are having trouble with screen sharing while using Class for Zoom you may need to adjust the system preferences on your Mac.

How to access your First Day Access Course Materials

If you do not want or need to use the Yuzu reader, the best way to access your First Day Access Course materials is by using the link provided to you in your First Day Access course in Blackboard.

Embedding Files or Media in Discussion Boards

After You Schedule a DE Proctored Exam Using Class for Zoom

When you schedule your exam, you will receive an email.  

This initial email provides information on what should be done and checked before the exam. (Example of email)

On the day of your exam, you will receive an email from DE Proctoring ([email protected]) with the actual link to your exam. 

If you did not get the link, please check your spam folder to see if it went there.  If you do not have the email, please email [email protected].  

Please note the following:

  • You will no longer get Google Calendar invites when you schedule your exam. 
  • Students will be UNABLE to schedule an exam if they are trying to schedule less than 48 hours out.
  • If a student shows up for their exam appointment more than 15 minutes late, they will not be allowed into their online proctored exam.

Pearson LockDown Browser

Class for Zoom

Please note that if you are a student using an ACC computer in one of our labs, you do not need to install Class for Zoom.  When you launch Class for Zoom from the link you were provided, you should choose “Launch Class for Web” to launch your Class (as seen in the picture below).

If you are on a personal device, you can choose to install the Class application or use the web version.

Class for Zoom is a virtual classroom that uses Zoom. You will access Class for Zoom directly from Blackboard in your course (this will only be available to students whose instructors have opted to use the Class for Zoom platform). Students will need to download class software if they are using a MAC or PC. Class for Zoom can be downloaded with the following website: https://austincc.class.com/

For Android, iPad, or Chrome you will need to install the app from the respective app store.
