Troubleshooting Blackboard/Zoom integration issues on Mac computers

Some students, faculty or staff using Apple Mac computers to access Zoom (or Class for Zoom) links from Blackboard are receiving the following error when they click on the Zoom link – “Redirect to Zoom…Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser, If you can not launch LTI Pro, please click here”. The issue revolves around how Apple is now handling cookies and cross tracking of cookies. This change was made on Apple’s end and not by anything ACC has done, which is why this issue is only showing up on Apple products.

Depending on how you are accessing Blackboard, will determine what settings need to be changed to resolve this issue. Please follow the steps below based on how you are trying to access the Zoom link for your class on your Mac computer.

If you are using the Safari Browser on a Mac to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link and are getting the above mentioned error, please click on the word Safari from within the Safari Browser, and then click on Settings.Safari Browser Settings

From Settings, please click on the Privacy heading and make sure Prevent cross-site tracking is NOT checked.Safari privacy setting

Please close and relaunch the browser. You should now be able to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link from the Blackboard website.

If you are using the Chrome browser on a Mac to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link and are getting the above mentioned error, please click on the 3 dots in the upper, right hand corner of the Chrome browser, and then click on Settings.Chrome browser settings

From Settings, please click on Privacy and Security.Chrome privacy settings

Lastly, please click on the radio button to Allow third-party cookies.Chrome third party cookies

Please close and relaunch the browser. You should now be able to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link from the Blackboard website.

If you are using the Firefox browser on a Mac to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link and are getting the above mentioned error, please click on the 3 lines in the upper, right hand corner of the Firefox browser, and then click on Settings.Firefox browser settingas

Lastly, please click on the radio button for Standard.Standard radio button

Please close and relaunch the browser.  You should now be able to access the Zoom/Class for Zoom link from the Blackboard website.
