Susan Meigs — Assistant Department Chair, Composition and Literary Studies

Susan first taught writing at ACC in 1990 as a UT graduate student. After a career in educational software, she returned to ACC, where she has taught, tutored, served, and grown as an educator. Susan’s professional interests include active and engaged learning, digital fluency, and character development. She teaches two LAG courses, “Considering Tech” (Comp I), which explores AI, and “The Pursuit of Happiness” (Comp II), which incorporates service-learning as part of her LEAD fellowship. Over the years, she has taught at several institutions, but her students and colleagues at ACC bring her the most inspiration and joy.
