James Mendoza — Professor of Mathematics
I am a mathematics instructor at Austin Community College, where I have primarily taught College Algebra and Statistics at the Hays campus. I earned both my master’s degree and PhD in Mathematics Education from Texas State University. My teaching and research interests focus on helping students develop conceptual understanding of mathematics. My current work aims to give statistics students insight into the basic components of research, including data analysis and evidence-based reasoning. I live in San Marcos with my wife of 25 years and our eight children.
