Eva Thomsen
Eva Thomsen — Professor of General Studies, Student Development

With over 30 years of experience in higher education, Eva has worked across instruction, mental health and career counseling, academic and transfer advising, and residential life, bringing a holistic and compassionate approach to student success. Based at the Highland Campus, she offers in-person instruction focused on Mindfulness-Based Learning and Living, supporting students’ academic growth, emotional well-being, and resilience through experiential learning. Her courses integrate research-based mindfulness practices that help students manage stress, strengthen focus and creativity, and navigate college life with balance and purpose. Her research interests include holistic student development and wellness pedagogy. She holds an M.Ed. in Counseling Education from UT Austin, a BFA from SUNY Purchase, and an AAS from Onondaga Community College.
