Mita Paul — Professor of Chemistry
I am a chemistry instructor at Austin Community College, where I teach general and environmental chemistry lecture and laboratories. My work focuses on student-centered, inquiry-based laboratory instruction that emphasizes quantitative analysis, instrumentation, and real-world applications. My research interests center on enzyme chemistry, particularly phosphatases, and on developing scalable undergraduate research experiences that integrate spectroscopy, kinetics, and data analysis. I am also engaged in LEAD initiatives and other high-impact practices (HIPs), with an emphasis on experiential learning, undergraduate research, and inclusive teaching strategies that support diverse and students in STEM.
