Ryan Lopez — Assistant Professor of Composition and Literary Studies

These days, Ryan is an English professor at ACC, but in past lives, he supported his debilitating writing habit through myriad occupations, including teaching, tutoring, leading worship, planting churches, and even performing his original songs at the odd coffeeshop. He spent three years earning an MFA at Texas State University, which has debatably helped his stories, poems, and essays appear in numerous magazines you’ve likely never heard of, such as Deep Overstock, Lunate, Fudoki, and Porter House Review. His writing is most often inspired by faith and fairytales. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and their three children.
