{"id":8725,"date":"2020-01-23T15:30:51","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T15:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/accinsweb8366.wpenginepowered.com\/tledupdates\/?p=8725"},"modified":"2022-12-09T22:46:53","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T22:46:53","slug":"spring-2020-testing-center-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/tledupdates\/2020\/01\/23\/spring-2020-testing-center-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring 2020 Testing Center Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The content of this post is a copy of what Holly Delacroix \u2013 DeRouen, Director of Testing, sent out to all faculty on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Hello Faculty!<\/p>\n<p>Here is some important information from Instructional\u00a0TestingCenters\u00a0(ITC) that will assist you in your use of our services during the Spring 2020 semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours of Operation and Closures:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Link to view the ITC hours:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/campus-contacts?field_contact_campus_value=All&amp;field_contact_office_or_dept_value=Testing+Centers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/campus-contacts?field_contact_campus_value%3DAll%26field_contact_office_or_dept_value%3DTesting%2BCenters&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1579879695347000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGyYE_gTy7yzWXBbLXJSSHsvLaOxA\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">Instructional\u00a0Testing Center\u00a0Hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Testing\u00a0centers\u00a0will have extended Friday hours until 5pm on the last two Fridays of the Spring semester, May 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and May 15<sup>th.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Instructional\u00a0Testing\u00a0Closures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday, March 16<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 Sunday, March 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, 2020 \u2013 Spring Break<\/li>\n<li>Sunday, April 12<sup>st<\/sup>, 2020 \u2013 Easter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>UPDATED guidelines for Spring 2020:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Testing Centers\u00a0are no longer using Digital Desk to enter transmittals and check in students.\u00a0 We now have a new system that was developed by our IT Department called TestACCess.\u00a0 As with all new programs, we expect some growing pains with this system and appreciate your patience as we assist you and your students.\u00a0 We are working closely with our project managers to manage any issues that may arise and are prepared with paper check in forms for backup if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>In the next month, we will start working on Phase II of our system to be implemented end of Summer 2020 for Fall 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The TSS website is no longer available for submitting transmittals. Here are the instructions for submitting a\u00a0test\u00a0transmittal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Test\u00a0Transmittal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The most recent version of the\u00a0Test\u00a0Transmittal is attached. The transmittal in also on the\u00a0testing\u00a0webpage\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/facstaff\/testing-centers\/testing-centers-information-for-faculty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/facstaff\/testing-centers\/testing-centers-information-for-faculty&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1579879695348000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEnlE7po1nHaF2H9sCtUqGuI9t9cQ\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/facstaff\/testing-centers\/testing-centers-information-for-faculty<\/a>\u00a0in the quick links on the right.\u00a0 Please copy this email and submit all transmittals to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:testctr-transmittals@austincc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">testctr-transmittals@austincc.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Testing\u00a0Centers\u00a0<strong>will not<\/strong>\u00a0accept old copies of transmittals and you will be asked to complete a new one.<\/li>\n<li>All paper\u00a0tests\u00a0must contain course and faculty information to ensure we are not giving the wrong\u00a0test\u00a0or misplace the\u00a0test. If you do not have the information on your\u00a0test, please put a copy of the attached\u00a0<strong>cover sheet<\/strong>\u00a0with each exam.<\/li>\n<li>All blank\u00a0tests\u00a0will be returned at the end of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Blackboard passwords for ONL sections only:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ONL courses will now need to assign an access password to each online Blackboard\u00a0test.\u00a0 Passwords will be entered by ACC\u00a0testing\u00a0center\u00a0staff.\u00a0 The transmittal form has been updated to reflect space for you to enter the passwords for each exam. If you do not list any passwords, we will assume one is not needed for your\u00a0tests.<\/p>\n<p>Distance Education has created a detailed walkthrough of how to set your Blackboard exams up for the semester and covers all the potential\u00a0testing\u00a0scenarios you would encounter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tled.austincc.edu\/faculty-support\/course-development\/assessment\/testing-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/de.austincc.edu\/support\/faculty\/allow-students-to-take-exams-with-a-remote-3rd-party-proctor\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Deadlines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The last day to receive exams, transmittal forms, and related\u00a0test\u00a0materials for the Spring 2020 semester:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday, May 8<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020 at 1:00pm for non-weekend campus\u00a0Testing\u00a0Centers\u00a0(EVC, EGN, HYS, SGC)<\/li>\n<li>Saturday, May 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020 at 5:00pm for weekend campus\u00a0Testing\u00a0Centers\u00a0(CYP, NRG, HLC, RRC, RVS, SAC).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SAS Accommodations for approved SAS students:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students whose single accommodation is extended time will\u00a0test\u00a0in the\u00a0Testing Centers, guidelines attached.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Testing\u00a0Center\u00a0Violations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Violations are recorded in ACC\u2019s conduct software, Maxient. Resolutions and\/or sanctions concerning academic dishonesty in the\u00a0Testing\u00a0Center\u00a0must be forwarded to the Director of\u00a0Testing\u00a0for documentation purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and Student\u00a0Testing Center\u00a0procedures are attached for your reference.
