Greetings\u00a0TLED\u00a0Team,<\/p>\n

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Teaching and Learning Excellence Division meeting yesterday. I want to especially thank Miguel\u00a0DeLeon, Emile\u00a0Chamoun-Farah and\u00a0Balan\u00a0Villanuevafor helping with the logistics and set-up for the event.\u00a0 I was grateful for the opportunity to share more details about our\u00a0TLED\u00a0plan 2020-2025, its grounding in the framework of equity, diversity and inclusion, and its alignment with other plans of the college noting that it is all the same work.<\/p>\n

\"TLED
\nI know the most important part of the collective\u00a0TLED\u00a0plan is\u00a0you<\/em><\/strong>, and your individual plan based on goals and commitment to student success. My sharing of the Japanese concept\u00a0Ikigai, \u201cA Reason for Being,\u201d or \u201cYour reason for getting up in the morning,\u201d spoke to ways of approaching your individual plans based on four key questions:<\/div>\n
\n

\"Ikigai.
A sense of purpose is a key driver in our daily work. It will take each of us working together as a team to reach our goals and continue to improve student success outcomes. We are in no better place to address \u201cwhat the world needs\u201d than by working in the field of education — and particularly in a community college.

Yesterday\u2019s agenda was purposefully prepared with presentations that followed on a Culture of Communication and the Five Languages of Appreciation as foundational to our\u00a0TLED\u00a0Plan goals. Shout-out and thanks to Courtney Grams, ChelseaBiggerstaff\u00a0and Jeff\u00a0Johannigman\u00a0for leading these active and collaborative sessions and their passion for this work.

Attached you will find a copy of the DRAFT 5-yearTLED\u00a0Plan. Please take some time to review and share feedback with your supervisor.\u00a0 Last month I asked that supervisors send me their edits and feedback by this Friday, December 13th, but I will extend that to December 20th. The plan will be finalized in Spring 2020 and this summer we will begin aligning the goals of each Office\/Area in\u00a0TLED\u00a0in our\u00a0TracDat\u00a0Planning System, and matching goals in the\u00a0PEPs\u00a0for all\u00a0TLED employees.\u00a0 \"Budget<\/p>\n

We have an amazing team of faculty and staff in\u00a0TLED\u00a0and I look forward to working with all of you to create the best possible teaching, learning and work environments at\u00a0ACC\u00a0for all to thrive.<\/p>\n
