This year\u2019s Teaching &amp; Learning Excellence Division (TLED) print wall calendar, Faces of Our Mission, honors the diverse journeys that shape our College community. From parenting students to veterans, from first-generation college-goers to adult learners, it highlights the lived experiences that make our College community vibrant and unique.<\/p>\n<p>Created for all who support student success\u2014whether in the classroom, on campus, or behind the scenes\u2014the calendar invites reflection and connection. Each month features real student experiences, supported by data from the Office of Institutional Research and Analytics (OIRA), reminding us that inclusive, student-centered practices start with understanding who our students are.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #f5f5f5;padding: 20px;border-left: 5px solid #ccc;color: #000;font-weight: 500;font-size: 1rem;line-height: 1.6;border-radius: 6px;margin: 0\">\n<p>\u201cTLED has been designing and developing calendars as sources of information to foster awareness, spark reflection, showcase innovation, and highlight excellence for the past 18 years. As a proud Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), ACC remains committed to creating inclusive, affirming learning environments where Hispanic students can excel.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #f5f5f5;padding: 20px;border-left: 5px solid #ccc;color: #000;font-weight: 500;font-size: 1rem;line-height: 1.6;border-radius: 6px;margin: 0\">\u201c42% of traditional undergraduate students enrolled in fall 2024 were Hispanic learners.\u201d<\/div>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 20px\">Hispanic students thrive in educational environments that prioritize a strong sense of belonging, cultural relevance, meaningful engagement with faculty and peers, and support for their unique challenges and strengths. To see this impact in action, meet Alexandra \u2014 an ACC kinesiology graduate whose journey took her from ACC classrooms to playing basketball and studying kinesiology at Texas State.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cb0qAOHudh0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>By providing culturally relevant resources and support, ACC ensures Hispanic students can fully engage and succeed in their educational journey.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Spotlight on Student Resources<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/students.austincc.edu\/latin-american-cultural-center\/\">Latin American Cultural Center:<\/a> One resource that plays a key role in supporting Hispanic students at ACC is the Latin American Cultural Center, also known as El Centro. Serving as ACC\u2019s interdisciplinary center for Latine\/x heritage and programming, El Centro provides a welcoming and culturally affirming space for students to connect, learn, and grow.<\/p>\n<p>El Centro\u2019s mission is to increase knowledge and appreciation of Latine\/x culture, history, and contributions within Austin and Central Texas, as well as offer a global perspective for the ACC community. Students engaging with El Centro benefit from a combination of academic support, mentorship, and cultural programming designed to enhance the student experience and foster a sense of belonging on campus.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Celebrating Every Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Through initiatives like the Faces of Our Mission calendar, TLED highlights the importance of understanding student experiences\u2014backed by research and data\u2014for everyone who shapes learning at ACC.
