The purpose of faculty evaluation is to support exemplary counseling and student education through a process that is transparent, fair, and formative, resulting in actionable information faculty can use for continuous enhancement of counseling, student learning, and success for all students.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a summary of the most important parts of the process, with links to more detailed information.<\/p>\n<h3>Resources and Administrative Rules<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed information about faculty evaluation procedures can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1bkLFb_I3Y4_b40z_TnobmjYwRu9xl6l6dQYJadWpj8Y\/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.30j0zll\">Counseling Faculty Evaluation Manual<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The counseling faculty evaluation process is set out in the following Administrative Rules:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=1340\">Administrative Rule 4.1201.02: Faculty Evaluation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=2694\">Administrative Rule Guideline\/Procedure 4.1201.02.3: Faculty Evaluation \u2013 Counseling (G\/P)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Exemplary Counseling Statement and Faculty Reflection<\/h3>\n<p>The ACC Exemplary Counseling Statement is fundamental to the faculty evaluation process. Faculty self-reflection forms the basis for choosing approaches to counseling and the delivery of supportive education focused on mental health, career planning, and student learning.<\/p>\n<p>Student feedback provides valuable insight into this work, offering perspective on how counseling practices are perceived from the student viewpoint. Input from supervisors gives faculty additional, specific feedback to enhance the quality of their counseling and teaching practices.<\/p>\n<h2>Faculty Counselor Evaluation Components<\/h2>\n<p>Important components of the faculty counselor evaluation process include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exemplary Counseling Statement<\/strong> \u2013 To clarify college expectations for excellent counseling, ACC has adopted an Exemplary Counseling Statement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Counseling Unit Rubrics and Policies<\/strong> \u2013 To promote transparency and clarity in the evaluation process, each counseling unit must post the percentage weightings for each criterion on the ACC Counseling Faculty Evaluation website prior to evaluation submission.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evaluation Calendar<\/strong> \u2013 Faculty evaluations take place during the fall or summer semesters, covering materials from the previous academic year.
