The purpose of the faculty librarian evaluation is to support exemplary teaching, collection development, librarianship, and\u2014for head librarians\u2014management. This transparent, fair, formative process results in actionable information for continuous enhancement of teaching, learning, librarianship, and success for all students.<\/p>\n<p>The pages in the menu summarize and link to the most important parts of the process.<\/p>\n<h3>Resources and Administrative Rules<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed information about the faculty librarian evaluation procedures can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/ld.php?content_id=81847597\">Faculty Librarian Evaluation Manual<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The faculty librarian evaluation process is set out in the following Administrative Rules:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=1340\">Administrative Rule 4.1201.02: Faculty Evaluation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=2636\">Administrative Rule Guideline\/Procedure 4.1201.02.2: Faculty Librarian Evaluation (G\/P)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Exemplary Teaching Statement and Faculty Reflection<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/eval\">ACC Exemplary Teaching Statement<\/a> is fundamental to the faculty evaluation process for faculty librarians. Faculty self-reflection provides the basis for librarian goals, teaching techniques, and professional development. Peer review and input from the supervising head librarian or dean further support faculty development through specific feedback to enhance the quality of teaching, collection development, librarianship, and\u2014for head librarians\u2014management.<\/p>\n<h2>Faculty Librarian Evaluation Components<\/h2>\n<p>Important components of the faculty librarian evaluation process include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exemplary Teaching Statement<\/strong> \u2013 College expectations for excellent teaching are outlined in the Exemplary Teaching Statement, adopted by ACC faculty.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evaluation Calendar<\/strong> \u2013 Faculty librarian evaluations take place during late spring or early summer semesters, covering work performance from the current academic year. Evaluations follow a three-year cycle, requiring different portfolio components to be submitted each year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ratings<\/strong> \u2013 To simplify and clarify the evaluation process, there are three ratings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Formative Feedback<\/strong> \u2013 The Annual Summary Evaluation Form emphasizes providing formative feedback through the use of comments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Self-Reflection<\/strong> \u2013 There is an emphasis on self-reflection regarding faculty librarian teaching and student learning in their classes within the portfolio components.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For complete details on the faculty librarian evaluation process, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/ld.php?content_id=81847597\">Faculty Librarian Evaluation Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions, email the Dean of Library Services, Keri Moczygemba at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:keri.mozygemba@austincc.edu\">keri.mozygemba@austincc.edu<\/a>, or the Office of Faculty Evaluation at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:facultyevaluation@austincc.edu\">facultyevaluation@austincc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Portfolio<\/h2>\n<p>As with all Austin Community College faculty, faculty librarians must complete portfolio components, which meet Library Services departmental deadlines and are reviewed during the academic year and the Annual Faculty Librarian Evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>The faculty librarian portfolio components\u2014including annual checklists, deadlines, instructions, and forms for each year in the three-year evaluation cycle\u2014are listed in detail in the <a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/eval\">ACC Faculty Librarian Evaluations LibGuide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Annual Evaluation Forms<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/ld.php?content_id=81848651\">Annual Evaluation Summary Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/researchguides.austincc.edu\/ld.php?content_id=81848623\">Annual Faculty Librarian Evaluation Self\/Supervisor Form<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Submission and Records Management for Final Faculty Librarian Evaluation Materials<\/h3>\n<p>Final faculty librarian evaluation materials are submitted by the Dean of Library Services to the Office of Faculty Evaluation via <a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.account.box.com\/login\">Box<\/a>.
