They are:<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37370 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/tled\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/image-17.png?resize=550%2C501&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/tled\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/image-17.png?w=550&amp;ssl=1 550w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/tled\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/image-17.png?resize=300%2C273&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At the recommendation of the Faculty Evaluation Steering Committee, Faculty Evaluation is making a change to one of the \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d deadlines as well:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>When the Faculty Evaluation Summary app launched last year, Faculty Evaluation was aware of the need to address faculty evaluation forms that weren\u2019t signed by faculty. It was decided to automatically move unsigned forms forward for the deans to sign \u201cwithout faculty acknowledgement\u201d at the beginning of the spring semester.<\/li>\n<li>The Faculty Evaluation Steering Committee recommended that this deadline should be earlier and that Faculty Evaluation and department chairs should focus on stressing the deadline to faculty. So, this fall, <b>any faculty summary forms not signed by faculty will automatically be sent forward to the dean on December 7.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li>If faculty receive their forms late, they will always get at least 2 weeks to sign their forms before they are sent forward, after multiple email reminders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>New features for the Faculty Evaluation Summary app coming soon:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Additional faculty that will use the app: School of College Readiness, and counselors<\/li>\n<li>Persistent sorting and filtering of the faculty list is now available for department chairs<\/li>\n<li>When working on a summary form, department chairs (and assigned reviewers) will have a link(s) to easily review prior summary forms for that faculty member<\/li>\n<li>Additional reporting options<\/li>\n<li>Other tweaks, bug fixes, and improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Faculty Evaluation will present additional training on the Faculty Evaluation Summary app for new (or returning) users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The Austin Community College District values quality teaching and a learning environment that supports the continuous enhancement of the professional skills of its faculty. The purpose of faculty evaluation is to support exemplary teaching through a transparent, fair, formative process that results in actionable information faculty can use to continuously enhance a process that is transparent, fair, formative, and results in actionable information faculty can use for continuous enhancement of teaching and student learning and success for all students.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The pages in the menu summarize and link to the most important parts of the process.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following sources give more detailed information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed information about faculty evaluation procedures can be found in the<a href=\"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/accfacultyevalmanual\/\"> <i>Faculty Evaluation Manual<\/i><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The instructional faculty evaluation process is set out in the following administrative rules: <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=1340\"><i>Administrative Rule 4.1201.02: Faculty Evaluation<\/i><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/administrative-rules\/?p=2223\"><i>Administrative Rule Guideline\/Procedure <\/i><i>4.1201.02.1: Faculty Evaluation (G\/P)<\/i><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <i>ACC Exemplary Teaching Statement<\/i> is fundamental to the faculty evaluation process. Faculty self-reflection forms the basis for course planning and development. Student feedback can provide insight into this work and aid in the continuous enhancement of faculty teaching, providing perspective on how teaching practices are perceived from the student&#8217;s viewpoint. Peer review and input from the department chair offers faculty additional specific feedback to enhance the quality of their teaching.<\/p>\n<h3>Faculty Evaluation Components<\/h3>\n<p>Important components of the faculty evaluation process include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tled.austincc.edu\/faculty-support\/services\/faculty-evaluation\/full-time-and-adjunct-faculty-evaluation\/evaluation-criteria-and-ratings\/\">Exemplary Teaching Statement <\/a>\u2013 To clarify what College expectations are for excellent teaching, we have adopted an Exemplary Teaching Statement.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/faceval\/\">Departmental Rubrics and Policies <\/a>\u2013 To provide for greater transparency and clarity into the evaluation process, every department will post evaluation rubrics, weightings, and policies on the <a href=\"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/faceval\/\">ACC Departmental Policies &amp; Rubrics website<\/a> prior to evaluation submission.<\/li>\n<li><b>Evaluation Calendar<\/b> \u2013 Faculty evaluation will take place during Fall semesters, covering materials from the previous academic year.
