Teaching a Great Questions Seminar is an enriching and rewarding experience both inside and outside of the classroom. Any ACC faculty member who <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/a\/austincc.edu\/file\/d\/1qdzWFbeeZ1s7SHi9xosgBcvwz_QvnQ9F\/view?usp=sharing\">qualifies<\/a> to teach a Humanities class and who completes our Great Questions Faculty Training is eligible to teach <a href=\"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/thegreatquestions\/huma-1301\/\">HUMA 1301: The Great Questions Seminar<\/a>. Thanks to a generous grant from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teaglefoundation.org\/How-We-Grant\/Project-Profile\/Profiles\/The-Great-Questions-Seminar-An-Alternative-Studen\">The Teagle Foundation<\/a> we have trained over 100 ACC faculty to teach HUMA 1301: The Great Questions Seminar during the since 2018. Our faculty travel to professional conferences all over the country to share the great work we are doing with others while bringing home lessons learned to help improve our efforts to bring exceptionally high-quality liberal arts education to community college students at ACC.<\/div> <p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-470 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/thegreatquestions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/06\/teach2-150x150.png\" alt=\"Faculty and students in a conference room\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/thegreatquestions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/06\/teach2.png?resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/thegreatquestions\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2019\/06\/teach2.png?zoom=2&#038;resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p> <div class=\"drop-cap\">A large part of a Great Questions faculty member\u2019s role is the mentorship of students. Great Questions faculty review student\u2019s journal\u2019s and meet privately with each of their students twice a semester to discuss the student\u2019s academic, career and personal goals. Faculty mentorship and advising is a key<br \/> component of leading HUMA 1301: The Great Questions Seminars. Through teaching this course faculty learn more about our diverse student body, which helps them be more effective instructors in their home discipline. We continue to recruit qualified, brilliant and compassionate faculty who are eager for a challenging and rewarding teaching experience.
