Ivey Kayla “The Beauty Within”
The Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) focus engages students in various topics through the lens of human rights, social justice, conflict studies and peace processes. Issues related to these pillars are explored on the interpersonal, local, national, and international levels. Students should always consult with an academic or Interdisciplinary Studies faculty advisor regarding transfer to a specific college or university.
Through these various lenses, the overall focus of the degree program is to explore strategic, non-violent ways to create equitable arrangements of power and resources in the interests of peaceful coexistence. PACS students gain professional experience through PSYC 2389: Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Internship, the required internship course, which combines the seminar format with hands-on application of these principles in practice.

Peace & Conflict Studies Careers
Students with the Peace & Conflict Studies academic background will be better qualified for entry into a wide range of professional career tracks, including careers in the military, diplomacy, law and law enforcement, teaching, counseling, working in faith communities, public health, and working for non-profit agencies.

Service-learning enables students and faculty to put the principles of globalization into practice through active involvement with local groups in need of assistance.
