Conflict Transformation Academy: Level I- Registration Closed

Please indicate interest in future Level I sessions here.

The Center for Peace & Conflict Studies invites the ACC community (faculty, staff, and students) to join us for a workshop series as we discuss conflict within a framework of justice and an understanding of power imbalances, help you gain self-knowledge, and practice essential skills for dealing with conflict.
The goal of the Conflict Transformation Academy is to engage participants via real-time activities and cohort processing (such as pair & share, group share). Participants will apply concepts related to conflict through role-playing and interactive exercises. We will also provide opportunities for sustained engagement via a moderated community blog hosted on the course’s blackboard site.
This workshop series will address these topics:
  • What is Conflict? Nonviolent Approaches to Conflict Transformation
  • Why Does Conflict Occur? Human Needs, Emotions, and Interests
  • How Do We Respond to Conflict? Communication Strategies
  • How Does Conflict Shape Lives? The Role of Power
  • How Do We Interpret Conflict? Subjectivity and Perception
Enrollment has now closed for Level I. Indicate interest in future sessions here.
