Students can be contacted by their instructors and observers with the help of the Retention Center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: The parameters that are used to help instructors monitor students are set by the instructor.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4988\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/nexus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2024\/03\/2021-Early-Alert-Project-Presentation-1.png?resize=512%2C288&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image shows that anyone registered into the course is considered a student\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Warnings<\/h3>\n<p>There are four different types of warnings that can be activated to monitor students:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Missed Deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Activity Alerts<\/li>\n<li>Grade Alert<\/li>\n<li>Access Alert<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Each warning can be created and deleted by an instructor as needed and will run in the background. Students do not see these warnings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>If a grade is not entered, a warning will not be triggered.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4989\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/nexus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2024\/03\/2021-Early-Alert-Project-Presentation-2.png?resize=512%2C288&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image describes the four different types of warnings in the retention center\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Instructor&#8217;s Email<\/h3>\n<p>When a notification within the Retention Center alerts the instructor of at-risk student, instructors will then be given the ability to email students individually, the observers individually, or both through the Retention Center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Instructors should include the following information in each email:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>Student\u2019s ACCeID and email<\/li>\n<li>Advisor\u2019s name and email<\/li>\n<li>Instructor&#8217;s email<\/li>\n<li>Provide actionable advice<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>No email template is available for emailing students.
