Overview<\/h2>\n

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a two-step sign-in process that requires a one-time code from a mobile app or text message, in addition to the main Zoom sign-in. This provides an additional layer of security since users will need access to their phone to sign in to the Zoom web portal, desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Room.<\/p>\n

Setting up 2FA<\/h2>\n

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal after your admin has enabled 2FA.<\/li>\n
  2. Under Profile<\/strong>, scroll down to Two-factor Authentication<\/strong>, and select Turn on<\/strong>. You’ll be asked to enter your password to enable it.\"Turn<\/li>\n
  3. Select\u00a0Authentication App<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0SMS<\/strong> (text) as your authentication method.\"Authentication<\/li>\n

    1. Click Set Up<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. If you don’t already have a 2FA app on your mobile device, Zoom recommends downloading Google Authenticator<\/strong> (Android\/iPhone) or Authenticator<\/strong> (Windows Phone 7)<\/li>\n
    3. Open the 2FA app on your mobile device.<\/li>\n
    4. Tap the option to scan a QR code. Look for a camera or QR code icon and scan the QR code on the Zoom web portal. The 2FA app will generate a 6-digit, one-time code. Click Next<\/strong>.\"QR<\/li>\n
    5. Enter the 6-digit code, then click\u00a0Verify<\/strong>.\"Authentication<\/li>\n
    6. Zoom will display a list of recovery codes. If you lose your mobile device, you can use a recovery code instead of a generated 6-digit code to sign in.\n
