{"id":2980,"date":"2025-02-13T20:34:39","date_gmt":"2025-02-13T20:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/accinsweb8366.wpenginepowered.com\/faculty\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=2980"},"modified":"2025-06-23T18:38:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T18:38:56","slug":"using-google-calendar-with-zoom-add-on","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/instruction.austincc.edu\/nexus\/article\/using-google-calendar-with-zoom-add-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Using Google Calendar with Zoom (add-on)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article-body markdown\">\n<h2>Overview<\/h2>\n<p>With the <a href=\"https:\/\/gsuite.google.com\/marketplace\/app\/zoom_for_google_calendar\/364750910244\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zoom for Google Calendar add-on<\/a>, you can seamlessly schedule, join, and manage meetings right from Google Calendar.<\/p>\n<p>After installing the add-on, you can use it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/calendar\">Google Calendar desktop<\/a> or on the mobile app (<a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.google.android.calendar\">Android<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/google-calendar-time-planner\/id909319292?mt=8\">iOS<\/a>). You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.zoom.us\/docs\/pdf\/google-calendar-add-on-scheduling-privilege.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">schedule for another user<\/a> with scheduling privilege.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You cannot install the add-on if you are signed in to multiple Google accounts. Only sign in to the account that you want to install the add-on for.<\/li>\n<li>When using the add-on, make sure you are not signing in to multiple Google accounts with the add-on installed. This will cause issues when scheduling Zoom meetings using the add-on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"h_0bf39a1e-9da3-4173-ac7d-35bc63cc350d\">Installing for all users (G Suite Admin)<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in to your G Suite account as an admin.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/gsuite.google.com\/marketplace\/category\/works-with-gmail\">G Suite Marketplace<\/a> and search for Zoom.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Zoom for GSuite<\/strong> add-on.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Install<\/strong> then <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Review the terms of service, specify if you want to make the app available to your whole domain or to a specific team or department, check the agreement box, and click <strong>Accept<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.google.com\">https:\/\/admin.google.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"h_6ac86d97-a928-46d6-ab54-2316a7bc0d6f\">Allowing the Zoom add-on<\/h3>\n<p>If your organization only allows users to install allowed add-ons, the Zoom Calendar add-on will need to be added to the allowed list.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in to <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Google Admin console<\/a> with your Gsuite admin credentials.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Marketplace settings<\/strong>.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/nexus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2024\/03\/gsuite-marketplace-settings.png?w=580&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click on\u00a0<strong>Manage access to apps<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the option to manage the allowed list.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Zoom for GSuite<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click the option to allow Zoom.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Confirm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"h_98149d16-18fa-48d4-91c7-e8d227c58677\">Installing for your own use<\/h2>\n<p>If you have a personal Google account, you can still install the add-on for your own use. After installing the add-on, you can use it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/calendar\">Google Calendar desktop<\/a> or on the mobile app (<a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.google.android.calendar\">Android<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/google-calendar-time-planner\/id909319292?mt=8\">iOS<\/a>).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign in to your Google account, navigate to the <a href=\"https:\/\/gsuite.google.com\/marketplace\/\">G Suite Marketplace<\/a>, and search for Zoom.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Zoom for GSuite<\/strong> add-on.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Install<\/strong> then <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Review the terms of service and click <strong>Accept<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"h_27abe96f-75c3-4843-bed7-59268bf62107\">Web<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"h_3de4154b-754d-4017-a9aa-bb1deb15f9b9\">Signing in to Zoom<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Google Calendar and double-click on the date and time slot you want to create an event.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Add video conferencing<\/strong> dropdown menu, select <strong>Zoom Meeting<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/instruction.austincc.edu\/nexus\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2024\/03\/add-conferencing-dropdown-zoom-meetings.png?w=580&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click SIGN IN and follow the prompts to authorize access to your Zoom account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"h_d98b7aea-a3a0-408e-9ca9-8458adb32f5a\">Scheduling a meeting<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you are rescheduling a Zoom meeting from Google Calendar, edit the calendar entry and change the meeting date\/time.
