The webcam can be built into your computer or can be the type that plugs in with a USB cable. Watch this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.respondus.com\/products\/lockdown-browser\/student-movie.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">short video<\/a>\u00a0to get a basic understanding of LockDown Browser and the webcam feature. A student\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.respondus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/RLDB-Quick-Start-Guide-BbUltra-Student.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quick Start Guide (PDF)<\/a>\u00a0is also available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Setting up a Webcam In the LockDown Browser:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Start <strong>LockDown Browser<\/strong>, log into <strong>Blackboard<\/strong> and select <strong>this course<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>2.Locate and select the <b>Help Center<\/b> button on the LockDown Browser toolbar.<\/p>\n<p>3.Run the <b>Webcam Check<\/b> and, if necessary, resolve any issues.<\/p>\n<p>4. Run the <b>System &amp; Network Check<\/b>. If a problem is indicated, see if a solution is provided in the Knowledge Base Troubleshooting information can also be\u00a0 emailed to our institution&#8217;s help desk<\/p>\n<p>5. Exit the <strong>Help Center<\/strong> and locate the <strong>practice quiz<\/strong> named\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ffffff\">(NOTE TO INSTRUCTOR: CREATE A BRIEF PRACTICE QUIZ AND INSERT NAME OF QUIZ HERE; IF NECESSARY, INCLUDE LOCATION OF QUIZ)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>6. Upon completing and submitting the practice quiz, exit <strong>LockDown Browser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Guidelines for Taking an Exam in the LockDown Browser<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure you&#8217;re in a location where you won&#8217;t be interrupted<\/li>\n<li>Turn off all other devices (e.g. tablets, phones, second computers) and place them outside of your reach<\/li>\n<li>Clear your desk of all external materials not permitted \u2014 books, papers, other devices<\/li>\n<li>Before starting the test, know how much time is available for it and that you&#8217;ve allotted sufficient time to complete it<\/li>\n<li>Remain at your computer for the duration of the test<\/li>\n<li>If the computer or networking environment is different than what was used previously with the Webcam Check and System &amp; Network Check-in LockDown Browser, run the checks again prior to starting the test<\/li>\n<li>Ensure your computer or tablet is on a firm surface (a desk or table).
