Things to Consider Before You Apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All Cadets enrolling in the ACCFTA must be the age of eighteen (18) on or before the first day of class.<\/p>\n

All Cadets seeking certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) must pass a criminal background check during their application for the certification process with the state. The ACCFTA will not advise or inform you of which criminal offenses are permissible by the state. It is your responsibility to ensure you are eligible for certification<\/a><\/strong> prior to accepting admission into the ACCFTA. You may wish to contact TCFP<\/a><\/strong> if there is concern as to whether you will pass the required criminal background check.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

If selected, each Cadet must pass a physical examination<\/a><\/strong> by a licensed Texas physician prior to the first scheduled day of training in the ACCFTA. No Cadet shall be admitted to the ACCFTA with a Category A Medical Condition<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to tuition, fees<\/a>\u00a0and books, Cadets will incur some additional costs\u00a0(ie. pants, boots<\/a><\/strong> etc.). Questions about financial aid, scholarship, use of the GI bill or other funding should be directed to Kristi Elliott<\/a><\/strong>. Apply to ACC<\/a> and submit any required documents such as transcripts<\/a>, your meningitis<\/a> record, and\u00a0proof of residency<\/a>. (The area of study is Public and Social Services. The program is Fire Protection Technology.) Get help<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","column_2":"

Selection Criteria<\/h2>\n

The selection committee evaluates each application individually using a very specific selection process.\u00a0Selections are made in the following order:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All currently certified EMT-B (or higher) applicants will be selected first. (Proof of certification is required.)<\/li>\n
  2. Applicants currently enrolled in an EMT-B program will be selected next. ACC EMT students are given priority. (Proof of enrollment is required.)<\/li>\n
  3. Applicants who will be sponsored by a fire department will be considered next. (Proof of sponsorship is required.)<\/li>\n
  4. Applicants who are currently enrolled in the AAS Fire Protection Technology program at ACC will be offered admission next. (Enrollment proof required.)<\/li>\n
  5. If there are remaining slots available after this list of applicants has been exhausted, consideration will be given to applicants who have applied based on their date of application on a first-come-first-served basis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
