The Distance Education InFocus grant provides $2.68 million to support work that will increase student persistence, retention, and success for Hispanic and other low-income students. Prior to working for ACC, Dr. Robledo served as the Director of Distance Education at Austin Peay State University located in Clarksville, Tennessee. In her role as Director, she managed instructional design and technology support services for the university. This position involved the evaluation and acquisition of instructional technology platforms, continuous improvement of online learning policies, and support mechanisms for the purposes of cultivating talented and innovative faculty. Prior to her position in Tennessee, Dr. Robledo also served as a Director of Distance Learning for South Arkansas Community College (SouthArk) located in El Dorado, Arkansas. In this position, she managed all operational areas and support mechanisms for the delivery of online learning. During her years as an instructor, she taught online courses extensively and acquired a strong understanding of the unique benefits and challenges of the online classroom, as well as an appreciation of the contribution that distance education makes to student success and degree completion. She is happy to be joining DigiTex at this time and excited to have the opportunity to work with the consortium to help achieve its goals for the future. Heather holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Secondary Education and English from Concordia University Texas and a Master\u2019s degree in English from Baylor
