About our services

The Instructional Web Project (IWP) team is a part of the Office of Faculty Communications, within the Teaching & Learning Excellence Division (TLED). The team’s primary functions are:

  • Give current ACC students a seamless web experience as they navigate instructional programs online to access the information and resources needed for their continued success

  • Make student-facing ACCessible, inclusive, and user-friendly digital products for academic departments that in turn empower faculty to promote increased student success and persistence.

  • Build websites and web applications to facilitate instruction.

Our priority is working with academic departments to redesign their websites to ensure that they meet accessibility standards and align with ACC’s branding guidelines. Additionally, we work with instructors and departmental staff to create new student-facing websites and apps.

We also work with departments to meet other instructional digital needs:

We are available to hear about the work being done by your department and discuss potential student-facing digital tools that will contribute to the increased academic success of our Riverbats.

About our processes

We do all of the technical work and provide ongoing support for the life of your student-facing instructional digital project.

Request

  • Submit an online project request form for a website or app that will relieve a pain point or bring your Riverbat–worthy idea to life.

Review

  • Your project will be reviewed by IWP staff.
  • If it is approved as a student-facing instructional digital project, it will be added to the queue.
  • If the parameters of a project request fall beyond our scope, IWP will refer the project to the appropriate team or suggest an alternative resource.

Consult

  • Once your project’s status has been updated from “in queue” to “active,” a member of the team will contact you to participate in an intake meeting.

Approve

  • IWP will provide a project draft to you for your feedback and approval (this may involve several rounds of drafts and/or feedback review, depending on the project).

Launch & Maintain

  • Once your project has launched, we are available for future updates, edits, redesigns, and website maintenance.

We also offer a way for you to submit design and/or content files in your initial submission, via our Request a Service form.

If you need support with organizing content, Instructional Designers are available to provide that service.
