Parichehr Fariborz is an adjunct professor and an instructional associate in the Math Department at Austin Community College (ACC). She received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. from Texas State University. Parichehr has been teaching and tutoring different levels of Mathematics at ACC for almost 9 years. She loves Math and Science.
How has your community college teaching experience shaped your character over your career?
I have learned to be more compassionate. I believe everyone deserves a second chance and that second chance sometimes can do magic. My most recent experience was from the last semester. I gave a student who was about to fail the course a second chance and helped her catchup. she used the opportunity and succeeded the course. I felt more human than ever.
