Notification of the achievement will appear on your transcript. If your cumulative grade point average (GPA) qualifies for an achievement award, the honor will also appear on your diploma.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for academic honors, you must complete 12 credits at ACC and earn at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA for the semester. You are not eligible for honors if you are registered only in Developmental Education courses.<\/p>\n<p>The following academic achievements are recognized at ACC.<\/p>\n<h2>Academic Achievement Designations<\/h2>\n\n<table id=\"tablepress-acad-achiev-des\" class=\"tablepress tablepress-id-acad-achiev-des\">\n<thead>\n<tr class=\"row-1\">\n\t<th class=\"column-1\">Designation<\/th><th class=\"column-2\">Grade Point Average<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody class=\"row-striping row-hover\">\n<tr class=\"row-2\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Chancellor's Honor Award<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">4.0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-3\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Scholastic Excellence<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">3.75-3.99<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-4\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Scholastic Leadership<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">3.5-3.74<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n<h2>Academic Standards of Progress<\/h2>\n<p>The College maintains a system for monitoring academic progress to identify those students experiencing academic difficulty. The College will intervene in a student\u2019s academic life when circumstances warrant, will limit enrollment and course selection if considered necessary, and may employ additional interventions that foster and encourage academic success.<\/p>\n<p>Students receiving financial aid also must comply with the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy for Financial Aid Recipients.<\/p>\n<p>The College\u2019s academic standings and interventions are:<\/p>\n<h3>Good Standing<\/h3>\n<p>Cumulative 2.0 or greater Grade Point Average (GPA.) The student receives a congratulatory statement.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Warning<\/h3>\n<p>A student who does not meet a cumulative 2.0 or greater GPA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention:<\/strong> Registration hold applied. The student is notified of the academic standing and must meet with an advisor, completion counselor, success coach, or special populations advocate\u00a0and develop a plan for improvement in order to register.<\/p>\n<h3>Probation<\/h3>\n<p>Warning moves to Probation when a student does not meet the cumulative 2.0 GPA during the subsequent semester of enrollment. The student must follow the requirements of a performance improvement plan and will remain on Probation as long as the semester GPA is 2.0 or greater.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention: <\/strong>Registration hold applied. The student must meet with an advisor, completion counselor, success coach, or special populations advocate\u00a0and develop a plan for improvement in order to register.<\/p>\n<h3>Suspension<\/h3>\n<p>Probation moves to Suspension when a student on Probation does not meet the standard of a semester 2.0 or greater GPA during the subsequent semester of enrollment. The student is suspended for one semester.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention:<\/strong> Registration hold applied. Student is notified that:<\/p>\n<p>The student is suspended and may not enroll in any ACC credit courses for the indicated period. The student may have the opportunity to enroll for the semester under some stipulations. To be considered for conditional enrollment, the student must meet with a completion counselor, success coach, or special populations advocate for an Academic Standards of Progress Review. With the dean or associate dean of student affairs approval, the completion counselor or success coach and the student will develop a plan for academic improvement including a mid-semester report on academic progress.<\/p>\n<h3>Conditional Reinstatement<\/h3>\n<p>Suspension moves to Probation after the suspension period. The student will remain on Probation as long as the semester GPA is 2.0 or greater. A student not meeting semester requirements will be suspended for one semester.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention:<\/strong> Registration hold applied.
