Review these plans to learn evacuation routes, outside rally locations, and indoor shelter-in-place areas. More detailed procedures are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/emergency-management\">Emergency Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Campuses are equipped with alarms, electronic message boards, loud speakers, and emergency phones. In addition, trained campus emergency teams assist students and employees during an emergency. If you have a disability, contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/students\/student-accessibility-services-and-assistive-technology\">Student Accessibility Services Office<\/a> to customize specific emergency procedures for your campus.<\/p>\n<h2>ACC Emergency Alert<\/h2>\n<p>Austin Community College (ACC) Emergency Alert is the system that sends safety and security-related notifications via email and text message. ACC Emergency Alerts advise you of threats on campus, certain crimes that were reported, impending weather, and campus closures.<\/p>\n<p>Verify, add, or delete contact information by logging into the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/getrave.com\/login\/austincc\">RAVE Mobile Safety<\/a>\u00a0website using your\u00a0ACCeID and password. Instructions are provided at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/offices\/emergency-management\/acc-emergency-alert\">ACC Emergency Alert<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Severe Weather\/Outdoor Hazards<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Move immediately to shelter-in-place areas indicated on the Campus Safety Plans posted in each classroom.<\/li>\n<li>Shelter-in-place areas are located in the center of the building and away from outside walls and glass. If time permits, move to lower floors.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use elevators. Do not exit the building.<\/li>\n<li>Await the \u201call clear\u201d message from the administrator-in-charge, emergency coordinator, or ACC Emergency Alert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Fire<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Leave the building through the nearest safe exit or use an area of rescue assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Take personal belongings only if they are in the same room.<\/li>\n<li>Close all doors behind you. Do not lock them.<\/li>\n<li>Do not run. Do not use elevators.<\/li>\n<li>Report to the evacuation rally point. You must be accounted for at the rally point.<\/li>\n<li>Await the \u201call clear\u201d message from the administrator-in-charge, emergency coordinator, or outdoor public-address (PA) system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Armed Intruder\/Gunman on Campus<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Call 911 as soon as possible.<\/li>\n<li>If you can safely escape, RUN. Get away from the danger zone as quickly as possible.<\/li>\n<li>If you cannot safely escape, HIDE. Turn off lights, close and lock doors. Seek available cover.<\/li>\n<li>If you are confronted, FIGHT.
